God is With Me

The walk of faith can sometimes be lonely, especially when we wander from the narrow path and find ourselves struggling and drifting in and out of fellowship with God and fellow believers. This can happen so slowly that we might not even recognize it for what it is. How can I tell? What are the symptoms?

At times,

I think all of us who name the name of Jesus as Lord and friend encounter moments of doubt caused by feelings of inadequacy or lack of progress in our pilgrimage. It could be a secret sin we can’t seem to overcome, a fear of not measuring up, or maybe I just don’t get much out of my Bible time. I’ve got great news.

First, let me ask a couple of questions. Have you ever found God to say something He didn’t mean? Men lie. Men deceive. God? Never. (Titus 1:2). Have you ever found anything too difficult for God? Not in this lifetime (Jer. 32:27). Where do we turn for answers, for encouragement, for “teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness”(2Tim. 3:16)?

We should start

with an honest assessment of our current status and our direction. Location without direction is meaningless. There’s a big difference between backsliding and slow growth.

Adding the following to your arsenal may be just the thing you need to refocus.
Gen. 26:24 “I am with you…I will bless you.”
Gen 28:15 “I am with you…and will keep you.
Isa 41:10 “…do not anxiously look about you for I am your God, I will strengthen you.”
Jer. 1:8 “I am with you to deliver you.” Also Jer 1:19; 15:20; 42:11
Hag. 2:4 “But now take courage…for I am with you.
Matt. 28:20 “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Hopefully these few verses will reenergize your faith walk. If “God with you” isn’t enough, turn the page…
