What’s Next?
Easter has come and gone. The chocolate bunnies and colored eggs are consumed and forgotten for another year. Summer’s coming, school will be out, vacations loom. Has anything changed or is life just S2D2 “same stuff, different day”?
May I suggest you take a moment
to reflect on the possibility that the God who planned and (literally) executed Easter has a plan for you? In 1955, Jim Hill wrote the song, “What a Day That Will Be.” In it, a partial lyric echoes the hope of Easter:
All is peace forevermore
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
Easter is the culmination of God’s love story
that began on Christmas with the birth of His Son, Jesus. And it was written for you.
The glorious day referred to in the song is the day God blows the whistle and says, “everybody out of the pool.” It is commonly called The Rapture (of the church). It’s the day Jesus comes back for His family and takes us to heaven to be with Him forever. It will be glorious beyond anything we can imagine. And it will never end. It’s also available to everyone with only one stipulation. We have to come to Him on His terms, humbly, believing we can do nothing to earn it on our own, and trusting that His death and resurrection paid the price demanded by God.
My hope is that the true message of Easter
penetrates your heart and either refreshes your walk with Christ or allows you to see, for the first time, the truth of your lostness apart from Him. In the appendix, Steps To Salvation, you will read the explanation and solution to your sin problem found only in the person of Jesus Christ. Looking forward to seeing you on that happy golden shore.
