What In the World is Going On?

There are two ways to answer this question. One is through worldly eyes that are limited to processing data through our five senses. This will most likely result in discouragement, fear, and distrust. The other is through eyes of faith in the One who controls it all, the One who spoke our world into existence and won’t ever abdicate His role. The One who has a plan that cannot be thwarted and who cannot lie.

This post is meant as an encouragement, but there are many who will pooh-pooh the message because they’re not familiar with this author’s source material.

Rather than scrap

the entire project, i.e., the creation of the world and mankind, God did a reboot by flooding the entire planet and killing all men and animals that breathed air except for eight people (Noah and his family) and the pairs of animals Noah took into the ark with him. Fast forward two or three millennia to the time that Jesus Christ walked the earth about two millennia ago.

Most of the people of Jesus’ day also pooh-poohed the message because they didn’t believe He was God incarnate. Too bad. Jump forward to today. Most people still reject Jesus’ teaching for a lot of reasons. The Bible gives the simple answer: “…because men loved darkness rather than light, for their deeds were evil. (John 3:19)”

So, how is this encouraging?

For those of us who know God through Jesus, everything happening in today’s news has been foretold. The increasing rapidity and severity have also been promised and compared to the pains of childbirth. Do I know the day the final warnings will stop and it will be too late to change minds? No. Nobody does. But I do know what awaits us who are eagerly waiting for it.

Why do I believe the end is in view? The wars, hatred, lying and deception which we see expanding everywhere are among the signs the Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy. Ask yourself, “How many of these signs are rampant in Earth 2025?”: “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; avoid such men as these. (2 Tim. 3:2-5)” Did Paul miss any of the symptoms of today’s “men who love darkness because their deeds were evil”?

Being encouraged requires us to look

with eyes of faith to the promises of our God for every one of His people. Here are just two, there are many more: “I will never desert you nor will I ever forsake you (Heb 13:5). “I go to prepare a place for you…I will come again and receive you to Myself (John 14:3).”

Days may look dark because of the evil all around us. It hasn’t sneaked up on God. “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, watching the evil and the good. Pro 15:3” “For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and his ears attend to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. 1 Pet 3:12” God is giving plenty of time for sinners to repent and turn to Jesus as the only way to eternity in Heaven.

If you’re reading this and don’t know for sure

that your future is secured in Heaven, don’t wait another day to settle the issue. If you do know, there are likely those in your circle of influence that don’t. Start praying that God would open their eyes and that He would give you opportunity to point them in the right direction. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but through Me. (John 14:6).”

In the back of this book is a section titled “Steps to Salvation.” It gives you a good understanding of how God views your condition. I hope this has been encouraging for you. Your future in Jesus is beyond comprehension with our five senses. Open your eyes of faith and you’ll be blown away.

Thanks for reading.
